This page collects only what is currently operating, what it costs and which station is nearest, taken from the official pages of Tokai Bus, Izukyu, Michi-no-Eki Ito Marine Town and Shochiku, each with the date we checked it. The official statement that Ito is the setting

Tokai Bus writes on its official page that "the work is set in Ito City, and Tokai Bus route buses appear in the show." Season 1 aired in July 2016 and season 2 in April 2018 on SBS and other stations (Tokai Bus official, as of 2026-09-18). The manga is by Kozue Amano, published by Mag Garden (Shochiku official site, same date).

Still running: two wrapping buses

  • Bus 1 — in service since Sunday 21 August 2016.
  • Bus 2 — in service since Sunday 18 April 2021. Tokai Bus explains it happened because fans offered to cover the cost of the wrap and asked the company to run a second one.
  • Where they run — both buses run inside the Ito depot's service area with no fixed timetable. There is no schedule you can wait at, and no guaranteed route.
  • Days off — they do not run on vehicle-inspection days.
  • Enquiries: Tokai Bus Ito depot, 0557-37-5121.

Don't travel for a campaign that has ended

When the anime aired in 2016 there was a tie-up with Ito City that included a stamp rally and commemorative train tickets. Those were limited-time campaigns, and as of 2026-09-18 no current edition is announced on the official pages. Older fan round-ups still describe stamp sheets and a collaboration shop; going for those will be a wasted trip. What is officially verifiable today is the two wrapping buses and the three named partner companies.

Pilgrimage manners (Tokai Bus's own request)

  • Don't step into the road to take photos or otherwise obstruct the buses.
  • Don't point cameras at other passengers.
  • Keep to normal manners on board; don't change seats or stand while the bus is moving.
  • Ito has homes and schools. Follow local rules and use public transport.

What we could not verify

  • Whether Ito Marine Town has any permanent Amanchu! display or merchandise inside (we could not find it stated on the official site).
  • Which routes or times the wrapping buses run — the operator explicitly states there is no fixed timetable, so this cannot be pinned down.

FAQ

Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Tokai Bus states on its official page that the work is set in Ito City and that its route buses appear in the show (as of 2026-09-18).

Yes. According to Tokai Bus, bus 1 has run since 21 August 2016 and bus 2 since 18 April 2021. However, both run inside the Ito depot's service area with no fixed timetable, so you cannot wait for them at a set time or route, and they do not run on vehicle-inspection days (as of 2026-09-18).
Which bus pass is best for an Amanchu! trip in Ito?
The Tokai Bus Free Pass "Ito / Izu-Kogen 2-Day": 1,800 yen adult and 900 yen child, valid two days (the day of purchase and the next), with discounts at 17 facilities in the city. Passes sold from 1 October 2026 cost 2,150 yen adult and 1,080 yen child, so buying by 30 September is cheaper if your trip straddles the date (Tokai Bus official, as of 2026-09-18).
