animate Nagoya

animate Nagoya is the chain's main Nagoya store: three floors of manga, light novels, character goods, figures, trading cards and anime/game CDs and DVDs a short walk from Nagoya Station. It is not near the Osu shopping district — that's a separate area a few subway stops away.

What it is

animate Nagoya is the chain's flagship branch in the city: a three-floor specialty store about a 5-minute walk from JR Nagoya Station's Taiko-dori Exit (also reachable from the adjoining Meitetsu and Kintetsu Nagoya stations). 1F holds books — manga, light novels, and new-release/media-tie-in corners — plus a "Gratte" café counter and art supplies (pen tablets, Copic markers). 2F is character goods with regularly rotating new arrivals. 3F is audio-visual (CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, games), which the store describes as the largest such selection in the Chubu region, plus capsule-toy machines and Ensemble Stars character goods.

Good to know

Accepted payment includes cash, major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Amex, Diners), transit IC cards, QR-code payments (PayPay, Alipay, WeChat Pay) and animate's own gift certificates. One honest note: this store sits right by Nagoya Station, not in the Osu (大須) shopping district — if you're specifically hunting Osu's retro-game and secondhand shops, that's a different area a few subway stops away.
