What it is

Kiddyland is Harajuku's landmark character-goods department store, on Omotesando since 1950 — five floors (B1–4F) of officially licensed toys, stationery, plush and exclusive collabs, and one of the most-visited stops for both first-time and repeat Japan shoppers. Unlike a single-character shop, it's a rotating mix of Japan's biggest character brands under one roof, refreshed constantly with pop-ups.

Floor guide (verified against the official site, as of July 2026)

  • B1F — Snoopy Town Shop, a dedicated Peanuts/Snoopy specialty floor.
  • 1F — Chiikawa Land (ちいかわらんど). As of an October 2025 renovation, the entire ground floor became the official Chiikawa shop (it previously shared the floor with other trend-goods corners); expect the newest releases, limited items and pre-release stock, plus a rotating Sonny Angel pop-up corner that moves between this floor and the store's "K-SPOT" event space through the year.
  • 2F — Disney Avenue and the "Marutto Kojicoji Store" corner.
  • 3F — Kirby's Pupupu Market and general toys.
  • 4F — Rilakkuma Store, Hello Kitty Shop and Miffy Style.

A note on Sonny Angel: Kiddyland Harajuku is one of the brand's flagship Tokyo stockists and has run repeated official Sonny Angel pop-ups (most recently on 1F / K-SPOT) — but it isn't a single fixed permanent corner. If Sonny Angel is your main reason to visit, check the store's official X account (@h_kiddyland) for the current pop-up location before you go.

Tax-free shopping

Kiddyland Harajuku is a Japan Tax Free Shop, with multilingual signage (English, Korean, simplified & traditional Chinese). Purchases over ¥5,000 (before tax) qualify — bring your passport to the register.

Practical info

  • Hours: posted as 11:00–20:00 on the official site; some third-party listings cite a later close on weekends, so confirm on kiddyland.co.jp before a special trip, as hours can change without notice.
  • Access: on Omotesando — Meiji-Jingumae Station (Tokyo Metro), about 2 min walk; Harajuku Station (JR Yamanote Line) and Omotesando Station (Ginza Line and others), both roughly 5–8 min walk.
  • Payment: cash and major credit cards accepted.
  • Crowds: weekends and any Chiikawa/Sonny Angel restock day get busy fast — a weekday morning is the calmest time to browse all five floors properly.
