What it is

Den Den Town (Nipponbashi) is Osaka's answer to Tokyo's Akihabara — a dense district of electronics, hobby and otaku shops. Animate Osaka Nipponbashi anchors the area's pedestrianized 'Otaroad', occupying the 1st and 2nd floors of the Animate Building.

As the local outpost of Japan's biggest anime-goods chain, it carries a deep selection of manga and light novels, character merchandise, doujinshi, idol and voice-actor goods, music CDs, and tie-in products for current seasonal anime, with frequent in-store fairs and Animate-only bonuses. It's the easiest, most predictable entry point into Den Den Town — a known brand right where the otaku street begins.
