When is Reitaisai 2026 (Autumn)?

The 13th Hakurei Shrine Autumn Reitaisai (第十三回博麗神社秋季例大祭) is confirmed for Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight's East Hall, running roughly 10:30–15:30 (provisional, per the official site). Reitaisai is Japan's largest doujinshi (self-published fan-work) fair dedicated entirely to Touhou Project — the long-running bullet-hell shooting game series and its enormous derivative music/manga/game scene — and this Autumn edition is the smaller sibling of the flagship spring Reitaisai (held around Golden Week each year).

This is a separate, distinct event from the main spring Reitaisai (numbered on its own track, e.g. the 23rd main Reitaisai in spring 2026) — don't confuse the two when planning your trip.

Tickets — and the phone-number catch for overseas fans

General admission requires a paid ticket; the catalog alone is not an admission ticket. Based on the two most recent comparable editions (the 12th Autumn Reitaisai and the 23rd main Reitaisai), the going pattern has been:

The catch for overseas fans: LivePocket advance sales require SMS verification to a Japanese mobile number. If you don't have one, plan to buy the day-of ticket at the venue instead, or have a Japan-based friend buy your advance ticket.

Foreigner notes

• The official site is Japanese-only — there's no dedicated English information page, which is unusual for an event this size (and exactly why this guide exists).
• Cosplay and photography both require pre-registration through the official site — don't assume you can just show up in costume with a camera.
• Bring cash: doujin circle tables are overwhelmingly cash-only.
