What it is
Comic Market ("Comiket") is the world's largest self-published-comics (doujinshi) fair, held twice yearly at Tokyo Big Sight. C108 runs Saturday–Sunday, August 15–16, 2026, billed as the finale of Comiket's 50th-anniversary year. Tens of thousands of circles sell original and fan-made comics, art and goods, alongside a large corporate-booth area and one of Japan's biggest cosplay gatherings. Note: East Halls 4–6 are closed for renovation in 2026.
For a foreign visitor, Comiket is overwhelming in scale (hundreds of thousands attend across two days) and runs almost entirely in Japanese. It is hot, extremely crowded and culturally intense; lining up starts very early and popular circles sell out within minutes of opening.
Ticketing
Comiket uses a paid wristband-style admission pass (リストバンド型参加証) for general attendees, sold in advance online and (in limited numbers) on the day. Exact C108 wristband pricing had not been published at research time — check the official site. Use public transit only (private cars/overnight camping are prohibited). - C108 runs Saturday–Sunday, August 15–16, 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto City, Tokyo. The event floor is open roughly 10:00–16:00 each day (corporate booths stay open until about 17:00).
- Do I need a ticket, and how does an overseas visitor buy one?
- Yes — general admission requires a paid entry wristband, and overseas fans buy an AM Entry e-ticket online via eplus, then exchange it for a wristband on-site near the Rinkai-line station. Sales opened July 11, 2026 on a first-come basis. PM Entry wristbands (entry after 12:30) can also be bought in advance at Japanese anime shops or on the day at the venue.
- How much does admission cost and what are the ticket types?
- As of July 2026, an AM Entry wristband is ¥1,210 at Japanese stores (¥1,331 as an eplus e-ticket for overseas buyers), and a PM Entry wristband is ¥440 bought in advance at shops or ¥1,000 on the day. Early-entry (¥5,000) and cosplay changing-room (¥3,000) tickets were sold by advance lottery and are now closed. One child aged 15 or under enters free with one ticket-holding adult.
- How do I get there, and is there English support?
- Take the Yurikamome line to Tokyo Big Sight Station (about a 3-minute walk) or the Rinkai line to Kokusai-tenjijo Station (about 7 minutes). English guidance is limited: the official international page and the Comic Market Committee's X/Twitter (@comiket_intl) and Facebook are the main English channels, so plan and buy your ticket in advance.
