What it is

Hareruya is Japan's largest Magic: The Gathering retail chain, and the Akihabara branch is one of its Tokyo flagships, on floors 2F–5F of the Mikasa Building near Akihabara Station. It sells MTG booster packs, value-priced singles and supplies, and buys cards.

The shop is built around organized play: events run every day, from weekday casual games to weekend tournaments and beginner workshops, supported by a free play space the chain lists at 82 seats. Because Hareruya runs an English-language website with English event listings, it's comparatively foreigner-friendly. MTG is globally standardized, so cards bought here are tournament-legal worldwide and English-language Magic cards are widely available.
