TRADER Akihabara Main Store

TRADER's Akihabara flagship: an eight-floor (B1F–7F) secondhand games-and-hobby shop on Chuo-dori selling everything from retro Famicom titles to anime figures, plastic models and PC games, with a basement buyback counter. The current building opened in May 2024 on the site of a former TRADER branch that had closed back in 2021; today TRADER runs just two shops in Akihabara — this Main Store and a smaller Branch 2 near the JR tracks.

What it is

TRADER's Akihabara Main Store is a basement-to-7F secondhand games-and-hobby shop on Akihabara's central Chuo-dori strip. 1F carries new and used Nintendo software; 2F has PlayStation/Xbox and retro titles plus Blu-ray/DVD and CD; 3F–4F are anime and tokusatsu figures plus plastic models; 5F is video-game and bishōjo-style figures; 6F is PC games and adult software; 7F is adult video. The basement floor is a buyback counter that appraises trade-ins on the spot.

The current eight-floor building opened in May 2024, built on the site of a former TRADER branch that had actually closed back in 2021 for redevelopment — the old Main Store then relocated here. As of 2026, TRADER operates only two shops in Akihabara — this Main Store and a smaller Branch 2 a couple of minutes away under the JR tracks.
