Known for
What it is
Yellow Submarine Akihabara RPG Shop is the Akihabara flagship of Yellow Submarine, one of Japan's largest hobby-game chains, and it bills itself as one of the country's biggest tabletop-game specialty stores. The focus is tabletop role-playing games (TRPGs) — it's a listed retail partner for the official Japanese-language Dungeons & Dragons line — plus board games, wargames/SLG titles, miniatures and dice, sold new, used and as doujin (self-published) releases.
Important: this is a different store from Yellow Submarine's Akihabara Main Store ★Mint inside Akihabara Radio Kaikan. Trading card games (Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece Card Game, etc.) are handled by that separate Radio Kaikan location, not by the RPG Shop.
Practical notes
The shop relocated in October 2023 from its old spot to the Shiota Tour Akihabara building, about a 5–8 minute walk from JR Akihabara Station and roughly 1 minute from Tokyo Metro Suehirocho Station (Ginza Line) — it is not inside Radio Kaikan. It runs a dedicated pay-per-table play space for board games and TRPGs, priced by group size and day (from about ¥1,000 for two people on weekdays, more on weekends/holidays), and regularly hosts trial and demo game events — check the shop's event calendar before visiting if you want to join a session.
