Where to buy VTuber merch in Tokyo (hololive, Nijisanji & more)

The short answer

There's no single "VTuber department store" in Tokyo, and hololive and Nijisanji handle physical retail very differently. hololive's only genuinely permanent shop is in Harajuku (opened 24 April 2026, inside Tokyu Plaza Omotesando "OMOKADO"). Its long-running Tokyo Station shop on Tokyo Character Street has rotated stock every few weeks since November 2023 and can feel like a fixture, but it's still pop-up-format — it moved to temporary premises in mid-April 2026, so confirm it's actually open where you expect before you go. Nijisanji has no standalone permanent store at all: its main physical footprint is a shop-in-shop corner inside Kotobukiya Akihabara, plus occasional limited-run pop-ups elsewhere that close for good after a few weeks. For reliable, walk-in-any-day shopping, your best bets are Kotobukiya's VStore AKIBA floors, the VTuber sections inside animate flagships, Gamers, and — for used or discontinued goods — Lashinbang and Surugaya in Akihabara. Permanent shops you can walk into any day

Kotobukiya Akihabara — VStore AKIBA

Kotobukiya's Akihabara flagship (1-8-8 Sotokanda, Chiyoda-ku, about 3 minutes from the Electric Town Exit) dedicates floor space to VTuber merchandise under the "VStore AKIBA" banner — permanent corners for hololive, Nijisanji and VSPO! goods (acrylic stands, keychains, apparel and seasonal exclusives), plus upper floors that host short-run collab pop-ups and signing events on top of the permanent VTuber section. hololive production official shop — Harajuku (OMOKADO)

Opened 24 April 2026 inside Tokyu Plaza Omotesando "OMOKADO" (4-30-3 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku), run in partnership with Kiddy Land, hours 11:00–20:00. This is COVER Corp.'s first genuinely permanent hololive-only retail store in Japan — everything else the company has run has been time-limited. animate flagships (Akihabara & Ikebukuro)

animate doesn't run VTuber-exclusive stores, but its biggest branches carry a genuinely large selection folded into their general character-goods floors. animate Akihabara's 5th floor mixes VTuber merch (hololive, Nijisanji and other agencies) with Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Love Live! and Idolmaster goods. animate Ikebukuro's ten-floor flagship — reopened after a major 2023 rebuild — leans even harder into VTuber and idol merchandise. Both are worth checking for acrylic stands, keychains, art books and CDs you won't find at the dedicated shops.

Gamers

The Gamers character-goods chain's Akihabara branch also stocks a wide VTuber range and periodically gets agency-exclusive collab items you won't see at Kotobukiya or animate — worth a look if you're doing a full Akihabara sweep.

Secondhand and discontinued: Lashinbang and Surugaya

If a piece sold out at the official shops or agency store months ago, secondhand is often your only realistic option — VTuber merch runs are small and rarely restocked. Lashinbang Akihabara, inside the Akihabara Cultures Zone building (1-7-6 Sotokanda, 1F–2F), carries an unusually large used selection of hololive tapestries, acrylic stands, badges and body-pillow covers; prices and condition vary item to item. Surugaya Akihabara also stocks hololive and Nijisanji goods at its main Sotokanda store. Neither replaces the official corners if you want factory-fresh new releases, but both are the fastest route to older waves and out-of-print items.

Pop-ups: the honest part

This is where a lot of "official VTuber shop" claims online turn out to be time-limited. Nijisanji's standalone stores — like the "Nijisanji 7th Anniversary Store" that ran at Ikebukuro PACKS from 3 February to 30 March 2025 — open, run for a few weeks, and close for good, with no fixed successor announced in advance. hololive's Tokyo Station shop on Tokyo Character Street runs on the same logic, just far more often: it's relaunched with a new theme every few weeks since November 2023, which is why it can feel semi-permanent even though it's structurally a rotating pop-up (and, as noted above, it isn't even guaranteed to be in its usual spot right now). The only reliable way to catch these is to follow the official accounts — hololive's Tokyo shop posts as @holopro_shopTYO on X, and Nijisanji pop-ups are announced via ANYCOLOR/@NIJISANJI_World and the official news pages — and to check the shop's event page before building a day around it. Popular launch days have used numbered-ticket entry to manage queues, so arrive early.

Buying online or from overseas

hololive's official shop, shop.hololivepro.com, ships directly to 40+ countries with a choice of Standard or Express Courier (added January 2026); EU and UK orders have VAT collected at checkout, so nothing gets held at customs on arrival. Nijisanji's NIJISANJI EN Official Store (nijisanji-store.com) also ships overseas, with prices viewable in USD, EUR or CNY; some items ship from a Japan warehouse rather than a US one, so check each product page for delivery details before you order. For pop-up exclusives, VStore items, or secondhand finds at Lashinbang/Surugaya that don't ship internationally, a proxy service (Buyee, ZenMarket, Neokyo or NipponCart) will buy in Japan and forward the package; Buyee holds parcels free for 30 days and ZenMarket for 60, useful if you want to consolidate several purchases into one shipment.

Tax-free, payment and English
