Pokémon Center TOKYO DX

Pokémon Center TOKYO DX is the official Pokémon store on 5F of the Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. East Building in Nihonbashi, open 10:30–21:00 every day, directly connected to Nihombashi Station (exit B2), with tax-free handled in-store and the reservation-only Pokémon Cafe TOKYO on the same floor. How to get there

The easiest approach is underground. The Japanese version of the official shop page lists exit B2 of Nihombashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza and Tozai lines as a direct connection to the building, and Pokémon Cafe's official site likewise gives direct access from exit B2. If you are coming off the shinkansen or a JR line, it is a 5-minute walk from the Yaesu North Entrance of JR Tokyo Station, and from Nihombashi Station on the Toei Asakusa Line it is about 4 minutes on foot.

The store is on the 5th floor of the East Building, not in the Takashimaya department-store main building, so follow the signs for the East Building. On busy days the store has used the East Building 1F lobby in front of the elevator that runs directly to Pokémon Center TOKYO DX as its meeting point, which is a handy landmark if you arrive at street level. Pokémon Cafe's official site asks visitors to come by public transport, because nearby roads and parking lots are extremely crowded.

What's inside

Takashimaya S.C.'s shop directory describes Pokémon Center as Pokémon's official shop, carrying game software, card games and a wide range of original merchandise, along with services and campaigns for fans. The directory also tags the store as open late: its 21:00 close is an hour later than the 10:30–20:00 hours of the S.C. New Building's specialty shops (a few shops differ), so it works as an after-dinner stop.

Pokémon Center says it holds a variety of events every month. As of 23 September 2026, this store's September calendar lists:

• Pokémon TCG casual battles (open to all ages) on 23 and 27 September from 10:30 to 17:00, and on 30 September from 19:00 to 20:30. Participation tickets are handed out first come, first served from opening. Bring a 60-card deck, damage counters and other battle markers, plus a device that can log in to the Trainers Website; Players Club registration is required. Players who complete at least three matches with at least one win receive a promo "Eevee" card.
• Pokémon TCG classroom for children of primary-school age and younger on 26 September, in 90-minute sessions between 11:00 and 17:00 (reception 10:30–15:30). Bring official proof of age, such as a passport.

The store notes that events can be postponed, changed or cancelled without notice, so check the official events page on the day.

Busy days: timed tickets and lotteries

On a normal day you can simply walk in. The official FAQ says that, depending on crowding, a store may hand out numbered tickets or limit entry, and points you to the News page for the latest situation. Two recent examples from this store's own notices:

• Saturday 12 September 2026: entry was by timed ticket, handed out from around 8:00 at the East Building 1F direct-elevator lobby, with distribution moving to the 5F entrance hall after 10:30. One ticket per person, given only to the person entering.
• 24–30 September 2026: the Pokémon TCG MEGA expansion "30th CELEBRATION" is sold only to winners of an advance lottery (up to 10 packs per person). Applications ran through a LINE mini app and closed on 20 September, and the notice says no general sale is planned during the lottery period.

The official FAQ also says stores do not hold items for customers, and that returns or exchanges are accepted within 14 days for unopened, unused items when you bring the receipt to the store where you bought them; the FAQ adds that some products are not eligible for returns or exchanges made for the customer's own reasons.

Tax-free shopping

Takashimaya S.C.'s official list of tax-free shops marks Pokémon Center TOKYO DX as handling the tax-free procedure at the store itself (not at the main building's tax-free counter). Bring your passport.

According to the Japan Tourism Agency, as of 23 September 2026 general goods qualify when one visitor buys ¥5,000 or more at the same store on the same day. For purchases made from 1 November 2026, Japan moves to a refund system: you pay the tax-inclusive price at the register, and the consumption tax is refunded after customs confirms at departure (within 90 days of purchase) that you are taking the goods out of Japan. Pokémon Cafe TOKYO: the reservation link

Pokémon Cafe TOKYO is on the same East Building 5F as the store. Key facts from the official Pokémon Cafe website, as of 23 September 2026:

• Book online only on the official reservation site, reserve.pokemon-cafe.jp. Phone and email reservations are not accepted, and a booking must be made by 8:00 on the day of your visit.
• Next release: all dates from 1 to 30 November 2026 open at 18:00 JST on Thursday 1 October 2026. October dates were released on 1 September, and dates from 1 December will be announced later.
• Hours: 10:30–21:00, reservations only. Café-wide last order for food, sweets and drinks is 20:30; within your own booking, last order is 30 minutes before your 90-minute stay ends.
• Your slot: 90 minutes. Arrive at least 15 minutes early (10 minutes for the 10:40 A-seat slot). If you are 10 minutes late without contacting the café, the booking is cancelled automatically.
• Groups: one reservation per email address; groups of 7 or more need more than one reservation.
• No booking? Café merchandise can still be bought without a reservation.
• Language and payment: menus are available in English, simplified Chinese and Korean, and the café takes Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover and UnionPay.

Do I need a reservation to shop at the Pokémon Center? Not normally. The official FAQ only mentions numbered tickets or entry limits depending on crowding. Some launches are lottery-only: at Tokyo DX, from 24 to 30 September 2026, "30th CELEBRATION" packs are sold only to winners of the store's advance lottery.
